I cannot find the EDIT - EDIT FACE command in NX4. I have found replace face in DIRECT MODELING. A must have when working with dumb solids.

In earlier versions it was under Edit>Face from the pull down menus but at some point between NX-3 and NX-5 it changed. The earlier version was no a smart feature, but by NX-5 it had changed and become absorbed into direct modelling to replace the simplify body function.

This is one of the few case when NX was able to consolidate functions by getting rid of duplication. Since the older function did not create a feature there was no legacy to be hung up on!

In any case the name has eventually stayed the same but the underlying method is completely changed for the better.

Cheers

Hudson,

In NX 3 and NX 4, Delete Face is where it's always been, at...

Edit -> Face...

Starting in NX 5, the Delete Face function was moved to the Direct Modeling tool set, which of course in NX 6 now comes under the umbrella of Synchronous Modeling.

I thought so but couldn't check NX-4 right away. The new method is better anyway.
