Can anyone point me to some guidelines on designing ribbon blenders to blend powders such as spices, brown sugar, etc? I am looking for both mixing and stress analysis design guides.

Thanks for the help.

Tom....

Why don't you consider specifying and purchasing one from an experienced fabricator ? Why are you trying to design one yourself ?

Alternately, why not just purchase a used one and modify as necessary...?

What kind of massflow rates do you require ?

Tomtation, I have designed and built a number of these in 2 sizes. viz. 500L and 1000L I could help you with the supply of manufacturing drawings if I can find them.
I have never used this site before, so am not sure how to proceed. We should chat at glenn.gibbons@leroysomer.com

I actually work for a fabrication shop. The company has built two of these in the past but they were knock-offs. I want to be able to determine the blend time, the stresses in the ribbon and the power requirements for different batch sizes, products and recipes.
