Can they be created using a non-standard minor diameter? I tried it and
the results were truly bizarre. Can one add an edge blend (or would a face
blend be better?) to the base of a "tooth" or for that matter, can one add
a chamfer to the top of the tooth? I'm doing an external thread and it comes to
a very thin end and won't let me do these thingsf. Not sure how to get this to work.
TIA

Can you provide some more details as to the parameters used, or better yet, a sample part file?

I've gotten it to work for the most part. I created a PMI section view of the the threads but I'm not sure how to dimension the thread's minor diameter. I mean, I can do a diameter dimension but it shows up perpendicular to the plane that I want to see it on. I also need to dimension to the theoretical "corners" at the top of the threads where the chamfer is. I can't submit anything, it's not allowed.
