Although I'm quite sure of the answer, is there any way to automatically apply the correct annotation to a thread in drafting rather a manual annotation entry? Or do I need KF or grip?

Best regards

NX version?

In NX5, you can use "Insert, Feature parameters" in drafting, although this may not put in the thd callout the way you want it.

Everything should be designed as simple as possible, but not simpler.

The format of the call-out is controlled by a template file as defined by...

Customer Defaults -> Drafting -> General -> Standard...

You can find these template files at...

.../UGII/inh_files

...where you can modify or add to them using similar techniques and predefined formats.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

We use the radial dimension and change the radial to user defined to the thread "M". Is there a way to automize this.
can I add the metric M to the options in the dimension style ?
Or does anybody know another (quicker) solution?

You add a hole dimension and change the diameter symbol to M by going into the style. Find a tab called Radial and using a pull down menu that normally shows a diameter symbol to change it to "user defined" then you can type M in the box alongside.

The other way to go about it is to use the feature parameters tool which allows you to select the thread and the view and formats the text to suit. Depending on the standard you chose the results can differ, so try out some examples to check for yourself first.

Now I mentioned the manual method first because the second merely automates that process of changing preferences to suit the task. The results are otherwise identical.
