I have a point in my file that I can delete or blank in modeling or erase in my drafting views.

If you have a "Measure Body" feature then that point the the center of gravity - you may want to put that in a differnt layer

I have no idea why I keep getting this point in my files. I can't move it ot put on different layer because I can't select it. I delete everthing in the file and it's still there.

I guess the next thing would be to do a "part clean-up"
File > utilities > part clean-up
This sounds quite weird.

Are all of your layers set to 'selectable'?

All layers active, Parts clean up done (all option selected). I deleted everthing unblanked everthing. nothing in history tree and point is still there.

thanks for trying

When you try to select it, what is your selection filter set to? Sometimes the dialog memory catches you off guard.

Try hitting the F5 button (=refresh window).

Go into layers and hit the information button. That tells you what kinds of entities are on which layers. It is always a good place to start in diagnosing kinds of entities your part file contains.

I opened the file and there's nothing there, period. I can NOT see nor detect anything. The only thing which appears on the screen is the orientation 'trident' in the lower left corner of the display.

I think I see what you mean. There is something in the assembly navigator named 'point' (under 'Sections') that cannot be deleted.

I'm not entirely sure what it is, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I think it is just the name of your part file. If your file were an assembly there would be components under it. Other than that, as John says, your file is empty.

Your right. I repost file when I have some time.

Thank you for looking.

There is nothing in that file, the thing in the assembly navigator is just the node for the part itself.
