Hello,
I am in a Covid-related raw materials crunch at my company and I need to make a product that is similar to DuPont Elvamide 8063 Multipolymer; the multipolymer components for Elvamide being PA6 PA66 and PA610.
Currently, we take a 55.1 pound bag of Elvamide 8063, pour it into a 55 gallon drum and fill to the top with methanol. A little heat and agitation and it turns into liquid form.
What I need help with is how much formic acid to use if I were to pour 55.1 pounds of a combination of the aforementioned polymer group into a 55 gallon drum along with methanol to the top.
Does anyone know how much formic acid I need to add (along with anything else) to dissolve the nylon?
Thanks very much.
