Does "Fix at Current Timestamp" stops Linked Face to Synchronize ?

Hi folks,

A question about "linked face".
We are under NX 9.0.1.3 and TC 9

As we activate the "Fix at current Timestamp", the concern "Linked face" stops to synchronize.

Does using the "Fix at current Timestamp" should stop the synchronization ?
Can I understand this "fix" as - we are fixing the link at this moment - ?
Moment, I mean, at the moment as I activate it, not speaking about "an earlier moment in the original model creation steps" (what it is created for).

I add a look in documentation, I didn't find such synch-stop.
I remember used this option years ago in NX2.0 without this lock.

FIY, we don't have the WAVE licence, only the base features.

Thank you.

Ok. But it's not ... !?
I have to turn OFF "fix at timestamp". Apply.
And turn it ON again so it is updating the linked face.

(No, No delay at all are set ON in the Tools / Update menu)

What is your selection filet set to when select your face? Could you be deleting your time stamp step, or revising your face and loosing associativity? Can you reproduce this on the NX8.5 versus NX9.0?

We no longer have NX8. Can't try it.
The timestamp step I refer to have not been deleted.
"selection filet" ? It's a single cylindrical face.

I meant to say selection (face) intent (face Rule). Is it set to (Body faces? Single Face?) I do not know where "filet" came from this was my fault. Must have thinking fishing.

Fix at current timestamp locks the link to the current feature timestamp in the parent part, nothing else.

example:
Parent part:
extrude1
extrude2

Then you in a different part link a face from Extrude2

In the Parent part
you add some feature that modifies the face of extrude2
such that the history becomes :
Extrude 1
extrude 2
blend 3

The question then is should you keep the link at timestamp Extrude2 ( = fix at current timestamp on)
or should the linked face show the result inkluding the blend ? ( Fix at current timestamp off)
If you have the fix at... you can select what feature should be the timestamp ( in the parent part ) when you like to copy the link.

It does not affect the ability to update the link.

Tomas

Yep, that's exactly the behavior I had in mind.

I exported my assembly outside TC and tried it under a native NX9, same problem.
There is obviously something wrong. I'll report it to GTAC.
