Hello, I am working on a new residential addition that will be directly attached to the existing home building. There will be a double stud walls connecting the new addition with the existing building: one stud wall from the existing building and a new stud wall from the new addition. Should some specific binding components be used to make sure these two stud walls are tightly connected to each other in a structurally sound manner? If not adding any specific components to bind these two stud walls, would any apparent crack happen between the new addition and the existing building as the new addition's foundation gets settled over time (especially the first couple years after construction)? Any thoughts/inputs are greatly appreciated!

@ptr0,
Why are you using a double wall?
What forces are present at the wall interface that require "structural soundness"?
