Drafting problem

Hi,
I have a problem with drafting. Sometimes adding view in sheet takes long time (30 sek to 2 min) and sometimes after click 1 second and view is in place. I can't figure out from what it depends.
In modeling speed is always good without any problems.
In old computer I had the same problem and it disappeard doing nothing.

Andres,

You're probably clicking twice without meaning to. The default action after adding a first view is to throw off s second project view based on the first.

If you have a slow computer then try changing the customer defaults, under Drafting>General, Preview Tab, turn off shaded, and select wireframe instead. You can also set all your view preferences to turn off hidden line removal. I would do this an a part by part basis using it selectively if you know the part or assembly is large or complex and will update slowly. Most of the time you'll go back and change the setting once the view has been added, so it would be counter productive to change it in the customer defaults.

Lastly isn't it surprising when two minutes is too long to wait. It wasn't so long ago that twenty minutes might have been about normal for all but the simplest models. Some idea of whether your model is quite small or is it very large and complex may help focus on what is going on for you.

2 minutes isn't long for some of the assemblies I work with. Others are pretty near instant.

I remeber the days when we'd go home for the night and hope the views were generated when we came back the next morning....

Hi,

I have working with UG about 3-4 years and I have third computer which is faster than previous. So it's not a problem.
Also this problem comes and goes.
Two minutus is long time when making simple drawing takes about 2-5 minutes, and if you have to wait after every step 2 minutes (adding veiw or moving it) it is not pleasent.
I don't talk here about mold layout but simple details.

I try some other drivers maybe this will help.

Another thing that you can do is turn OFF hidden removal in drafting until after you have placed and positioned all of your views and then turn it back on.
