Hi,

How could I suppress/hide some of the bodies (the highlighted ones in the tree) from a 2D view?
I know that one solution would be to make/save all the bodies as individual separate parts in a new assembly).
But I am curious to know if there is another simpler solution.
I was thinking of using layers, but in the last 10 years I used different CAD systems.
Not sure if that maybe another option......

I would suggest using an assembly, and use arrangements. Makes things a little bit easier, than layers, and reference sets. But this is my experience, especially when you use the part in downstream applications.

Using layers is also a good segregation method

In this case , the "layer solution" is way faster and simpler than assemblies and arrangements.
Open the model file. View- move to layer- then select a body ( or multiple) at a time and move to a different layer. Save.
Open the drawing file, i assume you are using "master modeling" and the drawing is in a separate file.
Right click the model in the assembly navigator, check that layer option is set to "Original" . - This means that body x on layer 7 will "be" on layer 7 in the drawing file.
There might be a button synchronize layers in the bottom af the "assembly tab". click that if it exists.

Then , when adding views, for each "base view" you add, NX will set the layers which are visible / selectable at that moment to be the layers that this view will display.
( I.e set work layer to 7, all other layers invisible, add a "Base View". Set the work layer to 8, all other invisible, add a Base view etc etc.)
Section views , projected view, detail views etc will inherit the visible layers from the parent view.

Later you can change the setting for each view by using the "Layers Visible in View".

( NEVER EVER use the Visible In View in models, only use this on drawing views. I have seen quite a few parts where people had made the work layer invisible, and then nothing appears when they create new objects...)
