Hey,
when I go to the drawing view tracker and update my views, I no longer get a list with the updates.
In my drawing all those triangles pop up to show what has been updated.
I want to see the list with all the updates so that I can hit Clear All.

Anyone know where to find this? Thanks

It's on the drawing view tracker dialog box -
Clear All or Clear Selected.
By clicking the column title you can sort the warnings so you can see any 'Detached'.
You could then select all the others and clear them.
Select one of the warnings and click Find and you will be 'zoomed' to the drawing where the error occurrs.

I go Tools>Drawing View Tracker.
Then I hit update views. when I close the view tracker all those triangles pop up. I can't see a clear all option..
am I doing something wrong?

Right, so you go Tools --> Dimensions --> Track Dimension Changes (as I've said before) and then click on Clear All (wich I thought you already knew how to do... left-most button on the top bar).

My bad, I thought it was clear enough... I'll try to be more thorough next time.

WARNING: if any of these messages say "rebind failure" or something of the sort for a dimension, pressing "Clear All" will delete the dimension. To get rid of this, you must manually reattach the handles to the wanted geometry (alt+drag the handle to the wanted snap-point).

Cheers,
Martin

I must be doing something horribly wrong. When I go Tools>Dimensions>Track Dimension Changes nothing happens, I can't see any Clear All button..
Thanks for your patience!

Hi,

so when a model has chnaged in dimensions and you open
the drawing and press 'Update Views' no window pops
upt to show the changes, right? The you have to dig
into the registry:

- get into regedit

- FIND this key (replace the xx by SE's version number):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge\Version xx\PrefSets\Annotation

- below this key delete the following ones:

DimensionTrackerTop
DimensionTrackerBottom
DimensionTrackerLeft
DimensionTrackerRight

- close regedit and fire up SE

Hi,

you're welcome. Now, that everything runs as advertised you
should save SE's registry entry in case something gets
wrong later on:

- enter regedit
- select the top key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge

- RMB and select Export
choose a save place and a meaningful name

Now you're able to restore your setting by just doing a
double click on the exported fle (ending is .reg)

One word of warning here:
- open the saved registry part only with Notepad other editors
will make the file unusable for restore when (inadvertedly) saved.
- do NOT use this file with a different version of SE, or on
a different PC
- when installing an SE patch redo the export because some entries
might have been changed by the SP

Don,
I've used the exported key to transfer settings from one computer to another ( for same version of SE) without any apparent problems.
You say NOT to do it. Why ??

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind.
It's just such an easy way to keep all your toolbars etc when moved from one computer to another.
Why isn't there a "Transfer Settings" command in SE ?
One thing is certain though, don't EVER use it to transfer settings from one USER to another.
I know someone who did this and got in a real mess.
I did tell him not to, but it was "Oh well let's see what happens"
He did manage to sort it out eventually though.
