I have set up a deformable part that has one expression to define the length of my part. This expression has a min / max range. I would like to drive this expression in my assy by a different expression, say a geometric expression. When I attempt to edit the deformed expression in the expression editor, it is greyed out. The reason to drive the deformed expression is to vary my assy and have the deformed part adjust as the other driving expressions adjust and fail the update if the deformed part would venture out of the specified range.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

NX 2.0.6.2

Thanks in advance.

Parameters that have range limits are not accessable as regular expressions. They are designed to be part of the feature object itself, accessable only from the feature. You best to leave the deformed part with a regular expression and then create logic statements inside the expression system to define limits on the driving expression.

Thanks John.

To go one more step farther, what logic statement would be used to limit a value to be set to any value between 10 thru 20?
