Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how I may duplicate the classic Duesenberg radiator shell and grill? I want to build a replicar , and start with the rad grill and shell. How do I form it? THANKS.

If you're planning on building a replica then you need to do some serious groundwork. I build grills, radiators, windscreens & chassis's for various replica's and as reproductions for original vehicles.Until you have done some planning building a grill shell is not going to get you very far.If you want to make the grill shell start with some good dimensions and drawings/photo's and make a wooden buck, then pattern off the buck for your metal parts, tack it,weld it, & dress it up. I presume it will be steel and chrome plated. Hope this helps.

it is possible to take a nickle shell (like that from a 30-31 model A) and silver solder mods. Then have it coppered and plated. I did it once for a guy who was building a T-bucket. Turned out Ok. The advantage is you can use other platables and solder it to the shell too.
