Well as some of you may know, many aftermarket manufacturers of Engine Management systems have the stock vechicle's ECU connectors so that the customer can simply plug their new ECU into the stock harness, no rewiring required.

I have seen this done on more than one ocassion for more than one vehicle.

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of where these very proprietary connectors are purchased from or where they can be found?

Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

there are many manufacturers of black box connectors. Specifically, which connectors do you want and how many do you need?

I was looking for connectors for the Acura Integra model line in the OBD1-OBD2 years primarily.

Ideally it would be great to find a manufacturer who stocked or had ECU/harness connectors for most production vehicles.

At this stage of the game I just have a one-off need so I have decided to part out an unfortunatly working ECU for only the connectors, and also a stock harness for the male side of the connectors to make a pass through cable for which I can pull signals off easily.

Let me know if you have any futher info, thanks again!

The connector family you are looking for is made by Amp, a division of Tyco Electronics. The connectors are called Multilock Hybrid 040/070 and are available in multiple configurations.

good luck

Thank you very much!

Do you happen to know the scope of that family of connectors (which vehicles).

Lastly, how did you obtain this information, is there a reference guide or something similar out there for me to resort to in the future?

pulsewidth, Can you please direct me to the manufacturer of the ford EECV 104 pin connector. I need a male and female pin kit.
Thanks in advance.

I am looking for these types of connectors as well. I work on a lot of ecu's and any help would be great.
Thank You for time on this.

I don't know if this will help but there is a SICMA connector made in France. The company name is different so I can't tell you what the website is, but I found it once.

I have been told, but cannot confirm it, that it is a Ford part.

How do I go about finding the manufacturer for ECU connectors for my car?

It is 2003 Toyota Matrix, 1zz-fe.

E4 35pins 7,12,8,8

Usually the connector will have the manufacturers name or trademark molded into the plastic housing. Caution though- if there is a molded part number, it is probably only the part number of the housing and does not include seals and terminals.

Just A heads up...

When I tried to locate these connectors I was unable to find any mfr or distributor with them in stock - they all required minimum orders with no samples available.

If anyone finds a way around this, please let us know, thx.

This is going to be the standard... companies like AMP make these connectors in large batches for the major auto manufacturers, and as such, it's not a common item they would keep a handful in stock. Expect to buy these in 1k+ quantities per order.

We have this same problem with Packard connectors. Lots of them in the catalog but they have high minimum quantities and long lead times.

Someone like Waytek might stock a few.
