Experts,

This question has cropped up lots of times over the years.

Once the color of a face has been changed by filtering on type 'face' is there any way that this can be undone?

Users are changing face colours to aid identification during construction. Once the part is complete, we change the color to a uniform color all over. Selecting type body will only change those faces that haven't had a unique color applied - The obvious workaround is to select all the faces rather than the body.. the users just think this is a little untidy...

Any ideas?

What you do is go to...

Edit -> Object Display...

...select the BODY, hit OK, select the desired color, or use Inherit and select one of the faces which is still the desired body color, open the 'Settings' section of the dialog and toggle the 'Apply to All Faces' option to ON and hit OK.

That should do it.

John: Is there a way to reset the color of the component in an assembly which has been modified by someone back to the face colors that is used in the components model file?
There may be different colors applied to the faces. For example the machined faces vs. the casting faces.

Yes, while the Assembly is the Work Part, select the Component you wish to reset the color of, press MB3, select 'Properties', select the 'Assembly' tab and Toggle OFF the 'Specific Component Color' option. If this option is grayed-out, that means that the Component's color has not been modified in THIS Assembly.

Yes, right-click on the component(s) in the Assembly Navigator and choose Properties. From the Assembly tab, toggle OFF Specific Component Color.

This gets turned ON when the colors of objects are changed at the assembly level.
