Guys, if you look at IBC 2012 Equation 18-1, it looks like the equation is still exactly the same as IBC 2009. However, if I am not mistaken, IBC 2012 refers to ASCE 7-10 while IBC 2009 refers to ASCE 7-05. My question is the windload. If I am not mistaken, the windload for ASCE 7-10 is amplifed (factored) already? Do you reduce the lateral load from wind so it is "service" load? Can someone enlighten me?

The load combination in Chapter 16 were also re-factored between the two codes so you end up with similar wind loads. The allowable stress combinations have a 0.6 for wind where it was 1.0 before.

They have to change the code so people buy the code book LOL. If it is the same every time, nobody will buy it.
