Hi All,

First and foremost, I am trying to make a dimple on a brass sheet that is 0.8mm thick. The standard to which I am making these dimples say "Deep Dimple made with a 4.8mm rod with a 5mm end radius". Can anyone explain what your understanding of this is? Maybe my understanding of End radius is wrong. Thanks for your help.

Thanks

First and foremost your unfortunate standard resorts to description of tool and procedure and completely ignores the final result.

Nevertheless some assumptions may be made.

Is there any depth requirement in your "standard"?

As noted, "DEEP" is relative and the required depth needs to be specified.

I searched Google for "Deep Dimple made with a 4.8mm rod with a 5mm end radius" and actually came up with the interesting document.

If this is the right one, then we have depth...

Is the 4.8 the length or diameter? If the dia, would there be a point using a 5mm radius?
If the length, why call it out?
