F1554 Gr. 55 anchor bolt has yield strength of 55 ksi

F1554 Gr. 105 anchor bolt has yield strength of 105 ksi.

Sideway shear strength of the bolts are said to be 0.6 times the tensile strength so in case of grade 55 bolt, it's 33 ksi.

Let's take the case of 5/8" epoxy or chemical anchor bolt post installed (meaning after the concrete is placed) to the concrete pedestal or base. For shear or sideway lateral movement. Have you encountered cases where the concrete pedestal have greater shear resistance than 33 ksi in a 5/8" anchor bolt? What is the maximum shear strength of concrete pedestal have you come across?

If none and you are just considering the shear resistance. Why get the Hilti Gr 105 instead of just the Hilti Gr 55 (or other brands)?

Is there a Gr 105 hilti bolt "specifically" for shear? Maybe they have that for tension load.

All anchor bolts can be used for shear. You simply multiply the tensile strength by 0.6 to get the shear ultimate (tearing) strength.

For the Hilti HAS-36, HAS-55 and HAS-105. Which of these are fully/partially anneled, cold worked, quenced and tempered?

I heard for anchor bolts that are quenced and tempered. It has higher failure rates due to:

"1. embrittlement and this leads to corrosion.

2. proved to premature failure during fire due to thread stripping

3. assembly of high strength bolts require skin. If correct torque is not applied, the bolts will be damaged."

So better to avoid quenced and tempered anchor bolts. But I heard even low strength bolts are sometimes quenced and tempered. What is the case of the Hilti HAS-36 or HAS-55? I can't find data whether they were heat treated or not.
