My company often does the electrical design for cellular sites. Each site is unique in that they use different equipment and they may place the equipment on a roof, in a shelter, indoors or outdoors, etc.
I need some help in finding a way to calculate the cooling load of a shelter or equipment room housing the cellular equipment. I have no problem when the equipment manufacturer gives me the heat dissipation for that particular equipment but that information is not always easy to obtain. I don't want to be oversizing A/C equipment due to lack of information so I need to find a way to obtain the proper cooling load when I don't have the cellular equipment heat dissipation information.
Is there a preferred method used to calculate or measure the heat dissipation of the equipment in a space without having the specific heat dissipation values from the manufacturer?
I appreciate any suggestions.
