Dear All,

I would like to know, if there is equivalent EN,ISO or ASTM standard to AMS2750.

I found only a little bit about TUS (temperature uniformity survey) in EN ISO 17663, but there is almost nothing about TC calibration (except that TCs are stable and precise and do not need any validation, which is in complete oppositon to AMS2750).

And other question. I would like to know from someone, who got through ASM2750 implementation into plant procedures (and follow up audits), how long did it take(weeks, months?).

I am not aware of an equivalent standard. Even the automotive industry requirement AIAG CQI-9 Special Process: Heat Treat System Assessment references SAE AMS2750 for pyrometry. I would use an estimate of months rather than weeks for implementation of AMS2750 requirements if this is for multiple furnaces within a typical steel heat treating facility. If it is only one or two furnaces that will be heat treating a limited variety of parts, maybe weeks.

AMS 2750E is the only complete pyrometry and control spec out there.
We planed on 9 month to implement it. Writing procedures, training, auditing to prove that they are being followed, revise the procedures to correct them, and then a real audit.
You will need the help of a good consultant.
There are a lot of details.
But this is a great spec, it will improve your products.
We use it as a guide for furnace practice even in plants that don't intend to certify to it.

For info I just found out about existence of
EN 4268:2012 (E) Aerospace series - Metallic materials - Heat treatment facilities - General requirements.

It looks like it covers similar topics as AMS2750 although not in such depth or with references to other standards such as IEC 60584-2, Thermocouples — Part 2: Tolerances.

Mutual compatibility between these two standards is probably impossible.

Of course only customer will have the last word, which standard he accepts.
