Howdy folks! I've been lurking since I started using NX 7.5 (2 months ago), trying to get the hang of this system. I've found an issue that I can't get past, and my googling seems to have failed me.

I've inserted a projected view, and I'm trying to attach a datum feature to a control frame leader, something like this:

|[feature control frame]
|
[A]--<|
|

Anyway, when I do this, I get an alert that pops up in the corner of the screen saying "Disassociated leader or origin data must be corrected before other changes can be made." I have associated the leader and the datum feature to the view, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I found a work-around, in case anyone searching the web for this error message comes accross this thread:

I had a dimension that comes off of DTM A, and instead of trying to attach DTM A leader to the FCF, I attached it to the dimension. It works for me; maybe it will work for you.

Rant regarding my frustration with NX: Why do companies use it? Does Siemens sell it for really cheap or something? Because so far, I haven't found a single thing that NX does that isn't easier/more intuitive in Pro/E. [/end rant]

It depends on what you learned on and/or what you are used to. I have (ex) coworkers that used NX for years and are now using Pro/E, they have a similar complaint about Pro/E.

Just beginner's frustration is all. I'm sure it'll get better with time.
