I would like to know if there is any new publication, techical paper about estimating nearshore conditions for irregular waves. I know the one published by U.S. Army corps of Enginners Technical Paper no.80-3 June 1980.

Thanks

Although it is not new, the program CHAMP (Coastal Hazards Analysis and Modeling Program ) available free from FEMA may be helpful to you.

You can find it at

the COE has been slow to issue it's newest shoreline protection manual which is now named Coastal Engineering Manual (CEM). this manual provides some more recent information about nearshore waves in the section II-4 "Surf Zone Hydrodynamics". however they are quick to point out that they have not proven some of the formulas with model results.
