Hello all.....

Does anyone know of a website or group of websites that offer formatted EXCEL spreadsheets for solving common engineering problems ? As shareware ?

Because of the common usage of this spreadsheet program and, particularly because of it's iterative solver, it is very useful for a large class of problems...

Somebody out there must have a site for downloading these pre-formatted spreadsheets ( sometimes called "templates")
I am particularly interested in those for Mechanical engineering (power, mass balance)applications.

Anyone ??

We are building on a number of free templates for Excel, Mathcad, TEDDS, AutoCAD (and DWG compatible programs), VBA and even searching for free office tools such as Sun Microsystems free for download ($39.95 for documentation and CD-Rom mail order) replacement for MS Office Professional called Star Office.

Most important, we are promoting more than just the free download of these templates, we are promoting professionals with skills in these software to either donate their personal productivity tools for others to use and asking for their help to support our Evolutionware software policy - in other words, to take a template and improve upon it and then return it to our forum (or actually any one elses site that you choose) so long as it is always kept freeware and not promoted for sale or personal profit.

Our productivity tools are mostly for the structural engineering community but can be built up for those who are on the border of Architectural Engineering or Structural Mechanics.

The goal is not to be the one BBS or Discussion forum/ Website with the largest cybrary of templates, but to encourage all professionals who are online to promote these tools worldwide. The Structuralist
