All,
Can anyone tell me their experienced for locating expansion joints for buildings according to Expansion joints in Buildings: Technical Report No. 65. I have a one story load bearing masonry building (70'x375') with CFS trusses 2' o/c, sheathed with plywood and covered by asphalt shingles. The building is located in the mid-west with the seismic design category = B and wind speed is 90 mph. The masonry has CJ spacing is at 20' - 30' o/c and the 4x8 roof plywood is installed with a 1/8" gap around all sides w/ clips. I'm thinking that an expansion joint is unnecessary for my situation because the materials are not continuous like a metal deck. Any thoughts?
TIA
