Export NX12 Drafting To AutoCAD - Question To Experience

Greetings:

I am designing in NX12. Our customer requires 2-D AutoCAD. I know how to export to AutoCAD and properly scale and all of that; however, the AutoCAD file has to be cleaned up quite a bit. For example, angle dimensions change positions, so these require re-dimensioning, which isn't a huge deal. Also, dimensions change positions, have to be repositioned. Balooned features scatter to different areas of the print. Basically, I'm wondering if anyone else has had to do this and knows a smoother way to create a .dwg file from the drafting in NX?

Thanks in advance for any input,

Brent

In the "old days", the process to get a clean DXF file was the following:
[ul]
[li]export the NX drawing to CGM[/li]
[li]start a new NX file and import the CGM[/li]
[li]export the geometry from the new file to DXF (or DWG)[/li]
[/ul]

Using the "polylines" output text option would give a "what you see is what you get" output; but the text would be converted to lines/arcs. Also, it is likely that all the output would end up in AutoCAD's model space. Everything would be broken down to lines/arcs, you would not end up with "dimension" objects after the conversion...
