In a previous thread I asked how to add a BSP thread form to the hole dialogue. I was wondering how you can do the same thing to the THREAD function for an external thread cut on a piece of pipe??

We've added the BSP threads to the new Threaded Hole feature for NX 6, but for external threads (which have not been enhanced for NX 6) you will have to add that set of data yourself, which can be done relatively easily by modifying the thread table and then going to Customer Defaults and adding the BSP class to the set of classes available.

Thanks John,
I am just wondering where this thread table is situated? I have tried searching for it, but drawn a blank

The file name is 'thd_english.dat' and it's located in the UGII folder. Now you could modify that file, but you're probably better off copying it to somewhere else, modifying it and then using the environment variable:

set UGII_ENGLISH_THREADS=

to define the file name and path.

I would suggest that you just 'Copy & Paste' the NPT section from the .dat file and make your changes there and rename that section BSP.

And once you've done that, you'll need to go to Customer Defaults -> Modeling -> Feature Settings -> Symbolic Threads and then add the BSP notation to the section titled 'Form'.
