Hello all,

Recently we got an order to manufacture the reacter vessel . Material Sa 387 Grade 11 class 2. Manufacturing code as per ASME Sec 8 Div.1. Request all to give suitable welding consumable, preheat and post weld HT requirements of this material. Thickness of the plate 12mm.
Thank you all in advance.

Why don;t we go with ER70S B2L instead of ER80S-B2.

What does your welding engineer suggest? Surely, you have asked him/her?

The devil is in the details; she also wears prada.

All I want to know is where this PRESSURIZED at HIGH TEMPERATURE vessel will be situated, so that I can ensure my residence is sufficiently distant.

What's wrong with this picture?
A bunch of people with actual knowledge, a few of whom are possibly just scraping a living, are taking time to assist a poster bringing his/her daily task to eng-tips, for which he/she appears patently unqualified.
I like to help with questions, but it makes no sense to undercut myself and other qualified professionals. Further, I consider it unethical as a professional engineer to practice in an area I am unfamiliar with, not to mention my duty to the public in taking on the construction of potentially hazardous pressure equipment.
