In NX 9 we could open JT files and NX would recognize them as Faceted (Light weight) Bodies. Our operation would be to Decimate these bodies to reduce the poly count for use in another graphics program.
With the release of version 11, NX no longer allows me to select the jt as a faceted body under the Decimate operation.
My question is, is there a new way to do this or is it no longer an option? This is a critical operation in our process and I really need a work around if there is one.

Check and see if you can convert the type of faceted body,
There are several possible types available in NX, each with its own options.
Under the tab "Reverse engineering" there is an option "Convert Facet Body",
- Try that and see if it is the type of body which is the key.
Btw, you should be able to select the body and then press Ctrl+I, the listing window should report the type of body selected.

SUCCESS! With one slight issue. Some models lose parts when converted...not good.
