I have some stainless ID fan blades at a power plant.

We are considering having Conforma-Clad or a similar company braze tungston carbide onto the leading edge. To perform this process they bake the part at around 2000 degrees F. This is a twisted and tapered blade and the profile is critical.

Should I be concerned with this process?

Previously we used a spray process to deposit chrome carbide and it worked reasonably well.

Any thoughts?
