Hello everyone,
I'm looking a good book that can help me to add into my background in finite element analysis.
I have few years as stress engineer in aviation field. We use FEMAP as Post/Preprocessor programm.
Basic knowledge in FEA a have got from university course.
I try to watch webinars and read different articles but I feel I need something more solid.
I will be glad to any advice.
Thank in advanced,
Ilya

It depends whether you want to learn practical aspects or theoretical basics of FEA. For the former I recommend "Building Better Products with Finite Element Analysis" by Adams but for the latter there's no single book that will be enough to understand FEA. Many people say that the "Finite Element Method" trilogy by Zienkiewicz is the best and the most comprehensive but in my opinion it's overrated. The books that helped me understand how the Finite Element Method actually works are particularly:
- "The Finite Element Method for Engineers" Huebner
- "A First Course in the Finite Element Method" Logan
- "Introduction to Finite Elements in Engineering" Chandrupatla
- "A First Course in Finite Elements" Fish
- "Introduction to the Finite Element Method" Ottosen
- "Fundamentals of Finite Element Analysis" Hutton
- "Finite Element Analysis" Bhavikatti

First of all thank you for your list.
The main goal is to build solid background that gives a specific answer in practical creation FEM in the right way.
So If I understand you correct ""Building Better Products with Finite Element Analysis" by Adams" it is the right choice to start.
Other books in the list are optional.
Thank you for your advice

Yes, this one is the most practical. You can also try "Practical Finite Element Analysis" by Gokhale.

The Logan book recommended above is excellent.
