Hello!
I have a question regarding some simulations I need to run.
I have a finite element code able to reproduce 3D problems. With this code I would need to run some analyses by considering a 2D body (in order to compare my results with other results on the same examples run with a 2D-based code).
Does anyone have any similar experience? What assumptions have you done? I was thinking of making a very thin third dimension, and apply plane stress / strain conditions (based on the thickness of the real specimen in relation to the other two dimensions).
Many thanks
