NX 6.0.5.3

I more often than not 'Drag and Drop' files from an explorer window onto the NX background to open them. I have dual monitors, so it's really convenient.

What isn't so convenient is that I have to leave a gap around the graphics window to allow me to 'drop' the file on the background, as opposed to adding it as a component.

Is there anyway to change the behaviour, so that 'dropping' the file in the graphics window simply opens it ? Would then allow me to use full screen mode.

Cowski, yes, that is an option, but I quite often have multiple versions/sessions of NX running.

Then minimize the version of NX that you do not want the file to open up into - I believe the file will then open up in the session of NX that would be occupying the screen.

Hi Phillpd,
Not 100% but try dragging the file onto the windows title bar of the NX window, I think that will open it as a file.

If you drag and drop with another file open then the system is more likely to add the dropped file into the other as an assembly. Whereas all things being equal if you double click it always open separately.

Thanks guys.

I'm currently running 4 versions of NX, so double-clicking on a file isn't an option.
