Fillet Welded TTS joint in AD Merkblatter

Hi everyone,

Can anyone provide the reference of how to design fillet welded Tube-Tubesheet joint in Merkblatter.

In my opinion, calculations given in para 6.7.1.3 of ADM code (Section B5) are only valid for combined groove and fillet weld as shown in figure 11 of section B5.

In case of fillet weld I would use the throat thickness, ie =
g = 0.7 * fillet weld leg

But, AD Merk does not take into account the effect of the various thermal expansions of the shell, the tubes and the plate itself. If you want a better analysis you can refer to EN 13445-3, 13 or ASME VIII-1 UHX (which by the way, are very similar: will the day came when US and European Standards converge?)
