Hello friends.

I'm using Diana FEA software to simulate a set of flat slabs, at first I was having good results, but looking at the image below it's possible to see a distortion in the mesh I adopted. I would like to know if any forum member has any solution to make this mesh more optimized, since I would like to leave it refined only in the region close to the pillar, even to reduce the computational cost.

*In the image the slab panel is rectangular with 1.5m side and the finite elements are solid type with 20 nodes, specifically CHX60.

Grateful for the attention.

Try partitioning, i.e. dividing the volume into smaller pieces. This usually helps regardless of which software is used. In this case the first step would be to partition the gray part where it meets the blue one.
