Dear All,
One of the valve vendor quoted a 24" Ball valve for HC gas service. We asked for the fire test certificate. We required the valve (as normally happens ) urgently. The vendor (judging our urgency) has come up with the "Solution" - arranging a fire test certificate will take 8 to 10 weeks, in parallel we can start the valve production if order is placed - (of course) to save time.
My questions:
1) What parameters/features are affected if fire test fails and the modification is needed in the valve?
2) Is it acceptable to carry out the both (arranging fire test - as they would do this test on other size valve) and valve fabrication in parallel?
3) Any other pros and cons that we need to take into consideration?
Thanks and I am available for any clarification on my queries.
