Hello Guys

I am working on a project where I need to check the bolts of a flange/cover assembly.
My flanges has a contact metal metal both inside and outside the bolt circle. so I need to take into account the reaction force (HR) at the outside diameter of their contact metal-metal. I have tried to use a first calculation using only interior pressure ( HD, HT), gasket pressure (HG)..
I couldn't find a formula to do so especialy to calculate the moment around the cover. I know there are some formula on the CODAP but i don't have it.
Do you have any idea where i can get some resources for this type of contact?

Thank you.

What code are you working to? ASME VIII-1 covers this in Appendix Y.

Elb.ab,

Just have a look at Taylor forge bulletin 502. I guess it will solve your query.
