Flexible buried HDPE hydrostatic testing

Hello

I am currently testing some buried HDPE lines OD between 125 to 800 and length between 300m to 4 km.

I am using a constant pressure method outlined in AS2566. However I could not figure out the theory behind this method.

Could anyone give me some help on this?
