Below I have uploaded a screenshot of Column Flexural Design Details in ETABS based on Indian Code. I have a few questions regarding the design results and I would be grateful if somebody could clarify them to me!!
1. What is the purpose of calculating Initial Moment? How is Initial Moment different from Additional Moment? Are initial moments added to get design moments like additional moments?(Based on Note under Clause 39.7.1 if IS 456:2000)
2. How do we divide the total design moment into sway moment and non sway moment?
3. For a column with biaxial bending, is the Minimum Moment discarded if only one of the design moments is lesser than the Minimum Moment (based on Minimum Eccentricity Cl. 25.4 IS 456:2000) or the greater value of the two is taken for both design moments?
