Hi :

I have a system to pipe network, consisting of 4 Pipes and 3 elbows (90 degrees).

Fluid Flows through one end of the pipe at a pressure of 35psi and flow rate 2787 ft^3/min and leaves at pressure of 20 psi from the other end.

Now, my task is to design the pipe hangers, which would have the tendency to bend laterally because of the horizontal and vertical component of force on each elbow.

Use conservation of momentum to determine the average forces that the hangers will see. You can even assume that they will be the same in the vertical and horizontal direction.

Show the whole piping system. No system starts with an open pressure or ends with an open pressure.
Looks like an academic problem to me.
Also you need to specify the fluid density and its velocity. In other words you need a weight rate and velocity to do the momentum part of the problem.

Sorry, I was not clear in my last post. The question was to determine the reaction force on the hanger.

Now, While applying the conservation of momentum, will the reaction force on each elbow be the same or would it be different. What is the worst case scenario ?

Thanks,

Suggest you get hold of a text book on the subject as posts in this forum will be truncated and you will not necessarily get the right advice. thjis is mainly because you have not provided sufficient definitive information. If you do a search for piping or stress textbooks you will get references such as Grinnell Piping Design And Engineering. this is a good start.
