Fortran compiler for ABAQUS 6.12 and Windows

Hello everyone,

I am working on Windows-7 and i have ABAQUS 6.12. I need to write a subroutine using a FORTRAN.

My question is, What fortran compiler is suitable for my windows-7 and ABAQUS 6.12.
The second question is, is it free or not? If it is free, please advice me how to get it.

The Abaqus help file says that it requires Intel's fortran compiler (not free) but there have been other posts describing how to get gfortran (free, I think) to work.
