I am using Siemens NX 8.0. I am not able to upload the model but was hoping to get a better understanding if my process of obtaining forces from GPForces is correct or not.
With 2D meshes connected by stitched edging, is there any reason why the free body results tool would provide inaccurate force / moment output?
I basically have an I-beam with gussets and trying to obtain the forces / moments at the web / flange interface of the I-beam.
The stress values seem extremely high comparing them to the extracted loads at the interface using the Free Body Results tool.
I'm sure I am leaving out some needed information so if there is any further information, I will try to provide that to you.
A vertical load is applied to a small plate welded to the center of the bottom flange of the beam and a vertical and lateral G-load is applied as well.
