Any tips on where to potentially sourced stainless steel socket head cap screws with the following specs:

5/16-18
Fully threaded (critical)
Lengths of 2.25”/3.5”

SS alloy not critical

Thanks y’all

McMaster-Carr has 2.5 and 3.0 inch long, fully threaded, Stainless Steel, 5/16-18 Socket Head Cap Screws, as seen in this catalog page (scroll down about halfway):

We already buy those, need 2-1/4 + 3-1/2 unfortunately.

Frustratingly they are available in alloy steel but not SS.

In case someone finds this thread in the future, McMaster is able to source these. Just email them.

What's your quantity? Buy longer and cut them off.
Or go to a specialized fastener house, like Fastenal or many others.

If you cut them off and then they need to be re-passivated, if remaining stainless steel is an important factor.

@Jboggs and @3DDave - yea cutting crossed my mind, but it's >800 pieces... not to mention affecting the composition.

@hydtools - my initials are PCC - we had a good laugh discussing moving all of our business to them.

Contact a screw machine shop and have them quote it for you. Make complete.

So will these have an undercut at the head?
The stress at the shank/head with full threads can be very problematic.
