HI,
We plan to Install a Gas Turbine but The temperature and humidity of the outside air vary depending on the date and time and can reach the following values:
Relative humidity 72%
Maximum ambient temperature 47 c°
The question that arises is the following:
Is the performance of the turbine better if we choose 38c° for the design Dry bulb design temperature for Gas Turbine Generators ?
Any ideas or suggestions you might have would be helpful.

BEST REGARS.

It is the same Gas turbine you get whether you choose 38 degC or 47 degC temperature. The Gas turbines are rated at ISO temperature of 15 degC and for all other temperatures higher than the ISO rated temperature, a Derating factor is applied.
In your case, if you feel a lower output than specified is OK at 47 degC and if the temperature most of the year is likely to be 38 degC or lower, it may be more appropriate to choose 38 degC.
Generally speaking, max ambient is expected to be there only for a couple of hours in the day and that too only a few days in a year.

What RR says.

Can you live with a lower output for the few hours a year that it exceeds 38 or not.

If you can't then buy a bigger one, but then the risk is inefficient running 99% of the time.

Your call.
