Gasket source

Hi, I'm new here.
Does anyone know a good source for gaskets? I guess I could google it, but I'd like to get some suggestions from people "in the know", so to speak.

When I need custom gaskets, I generate drawings and I contact local rubber vendors. They cut stuff out for me, and so far, I am happy with the results. Custom cut gaskets are cheap.

My rubber requirements are usually that the rubber is available. If you have exotic requirements, you will have to research and Google.

We buy custom gaskets from a local vender. They're cheap IF it's a standard materials; high-temperature or chemical-resistant gaskets can be expensive.

Just curious, how significant is the price difference?

The price difference between what? There is not necessarily an alternative to a custom gasket. Making an off-the-shelf part work could rack up a lot more design time.

So I been doing a bunch of trolling around the internets, so in case anyone has the same issue, thomasnet is pretty good at provided sources throughout the country, you can search for your region and stuff, which is really important, for me anyway.

Lamons Gasket is a good source manufacturer for all types styles and different material gaskets. They are headquartered in Houston, TX but have branches all across the U.S. that have local manufacturing facilities.

As a long-time reader of these forums, it's usually suspicious when someone comes on, makes one reply in a thread that is several months old, and that reply promotes a particular manufacturer.
