gauge table help 1

cannot get gauge table K values to affect part. i have copied and pasted the existing chart below in same file to accomodate the different gauges we use and k factors (all in one excel file). when i edit a k value on the chart it does not change the flat pattern. how are the charts supposed to be filled out and used. the help files do not explain .

Is the Tools > Options > System Options > File Locations pointing to the correct location of the gauge table?
 
I have been a machine designer for 20 years and now i am working at a company that is requesting the flat layouts are ready for cutting without re-evaluation for their tooling. the attached file is filled out all the same K-factors for ease of copy-paste and i planned on adjusting the K values as i go from shop data feed back. the one i adjusted is 11ga 90 deg .157 rad, but every thing i tried would not update the part flat pattern. i have never used the charts before and the help files arent much help at all. thanks for your time and patience.

The bend radius and other parameters may be set when the bend is first created and it may be that changing the tables does not change existing bends. You would have to edit them individually in that case.
With the tables updated new bends would be layed out correctly.

i'll try that. on a side note i even tried editing the table in the part file window and also inexcel then re-loading it in the part file...neither updated the flat pattern either.
 
the new drawings will not use the changed values. its like it doesnt read the K values at all. when you gheck "use gauge chart" anpigk from the pull down the gorrect list, the excel file loads and give me the gauce options off the lish on the other pull downs aling with the radius from the excell chart. it then defaults the "Bend Allowance" box to "gauge table" with a "K". i add the flanges to the part, give them a length and angle and the "bend Allowance" box is automatically set to "gauge table" again with a "K". i creat a drawing of the flat pattern and add the dimension to check if the correct "K" factor was used and every time the .44 factor will be used. i am begining to think that there is something really simple i am missing, but what? is it in the chart of the part file? and how do i correct it?
 
Are you using "K-factor" because that's what you want, or just as a buzz word to represent the calculation of how much material to include prior to bending (bend allowance)?

SolidWorks 2011 will have the ability to use real formulea with a default pulled from the DIN standard. This will hopefully be much more reliable than the way over-simplified K-factor.

For your information: I use SW2009 at the moment with a gauge table. Gauge table is a copy of a sample table with various gauges predefined.It works properly. Be sure each gauge and thickness is mentioned max 1 time per gauge table.
