Hello All,

Has anyone had any experience with the courses offered at GDandTbasics.com, if so did you find it useful?

Thanks

I have taken both the basics and advanced courses from GD&T basics.

Not sure how many years you have under your belt with the Y14.5 standard but in general the courses are pretty good. Lots of visuals and the instructor (and his team) are very good about responding to your questions within the same day (or next).

There are quizzes and a final exam in both courses...which were both helpful for me in preparing for the senior certification exam for Y14.5-2009.

If you're totally new to GD&T, their basics course will probably give you what you need. I wasn't totally new so I found the basics course to be a little more of a refresher rather than a learning experience.

I took a couple of courses decades ago where the company had an instructor come in to our plant. That was good because after going over the course material, we could bring up our own specific drawings and get expert input into our own special problems. I later got Alex Krulikowski's self-study workbook which I really like and still refer to although it's a bit out of date now.

umatrix,

I did my GD&T training at Ryerson University here in Toronto about twenty years ago. The course went about sixty hours. It was based, not surprisingly, on ASME Y14.5M-1994. The standard actually is entitled Dimensioning and Tolerancing. There is no mention of GD&T, although my certificate states this.

What do you mean by basic?
