Hello

I recently installed NX 7.5 on my new laptop which has Windows 7 64 bit, a Intel 2920 CPU, and an Nvidia 580m graphics card. When I go to start up the program I receive and error message that says "General Fault Exception". I've talk with my CAD professor and he has never seen an error like this before, we've tried multiple solutions including, installing a different bit version as well as disabling my overclock that is on my GPU.My professor is under the impression that it's a problem with my GPU and that its too powerful (yeah right!). Also I've called Siemens and spoke with a support guy, he also said that it's probably a problem with my GPU; however, he agreed that my teachers assertion about my card was flawed and had me open up the Nvidia 3D settings, within there I messed with some settings to try to get it to work. But there was not a 3D modeling setting that the support guy claimed there would be. I've yet to get NX past the "General Fault Exception" error and was wondering if anyone knew what I can do to get this program running, and if it is in fact a problem with my 3D settings which I can fix?

Long story short, what Nvidia 3D settings should I change to this program running?

Thank you so much for time!!

In my opinion it's not a graphics driver problem since you've tried the Windows VGA driver and the Nvidia one.
There's a conflict with something else on the system but the log file isn't giving any info.
Sorry I can't be of anymore help.

Since you don't have a certified laptop, GTAC will not be able to assist you with a hardware problem.
Do you have any modified configuration files from a prior build on your machine? These can sometimes cause problems.

I got this computer brand, new, it was built by a company called Xoticpc. I choose my parts and they put it together for me, it's like how you build your Dell laptop on and they build it for you.

Did this issue ever get resolved? I am having the exact same error and GTAC is telling me it is a graphics issue, I'm not convinced though.

Thanks
Nate
