I am a new user to GRIP & KF. Can anyone share any head start documentation or any other documentation that you have for me to learn. I would appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance

There's not a lot of documentation outside of what is provided with the product. Example of programs are always helpful. you would be looking for .GRS file types for grip, some may still be shipped with the product or in a zip file.

I don't know that grip would be my programming tool of choice to use with NX these days as it hasn't been kept up to date with changes over several past versions. The development was stopped prior to NX, and while it still works for many older and unchanged functions quite a few new parts of the system have no grip functionality. You might do better to look into some of the other NX Open programming tools based on C or visual basic programming languages.

Thanks Hudson. I will look into the documentation provided with the product. I was just wondering if anyone has any other type of material outside the documentation.

In my opinion GRIP is similar to Fortran.
Included documetation is enough if you can write programs in others languges.

Hudson,

Generaly speaking Engineers, it is not language for programers. It is good, simply and stil living language (last standard 2003). I had to learn Fortran when study.

Speaking of grip, does anyone have a routine to 'batch' translate .prt file to .stl files.

Thanks,

C

Not speaking of grip maybe they do. I think the rapid prototyping functionality may have missed out on a grip enhancement. History has been unkind to a few functions in that regard.

Cheers
