can anyone tell me what the obj is suppose to be referencing in the call below?

obj = RCOMP/'filespec'[,'component name'][REF,'reference set name'][,csys][,LAYER][,IFERR,label:]

is it a string, entity or other ?

I'm trying to assemble an assembly of dumb solids from another system using the DNEXT command and the above command.
I know grip is not maintained anymore but it will work well for this project.

That would be an entity that would contain the component.
You don't need it when dumping a component into an assembly.

rcomp/'filespec' is the minimum required.
