Hi all collogues,
We are installing a 5.6 volt Zener diode connected to ground inside a junction box of a motor for GROUND CHECK purpose , this Zener diode has its own wire inside the power cable ( GC wire )and then this wire should be connected to a ground fault monitoring relay in the electrical Panel .

We have two power cables ( each has it's GC wire ) with one relay at the end .
The question here: should we install two Zener Diodes one for each cable , or can we connect them to only one Zener diode that can do the function ? Can I have your thoughts ?

Well, it is always one relay and one Zener. One relay can be used to confirm one cable ground is connected and not broken.

You would use two relays and two Zener diodes to confirm both cables are connected.

If you are only concerned about the pump being grounded, then one relay and one Zener to confirm one cable is connected might be enough.

Well, you mean that even if we will install two cables , the zener and relay should be connected to only one cable ( one of the two cables ) ?

I was thinking to install the two check wires in parallels to be connected to the Zener diode inside the pump from one side and to the relay from the other side .

you could do that, but it will only detect both cables failing.
